Sarah Finney, MS LMFT
Sarah’s career in mental health and addiction treatment spans over two decades. As a therapist since 1993 and independent therapeutic and educational consultant since 2003, she has helped bring hope back into the lives of over 650 families throughout the United States and abroad. Sarah has personally evaluated more than 500 of the best treatment programs and schools in the country. Thanks to her extensive background, she has developed a vast professional network with the leading experts in mental health and addiction.
Sarah brings a unique perspective and differentiating experience to the world of therapeutic and educational consulting. She is a Licensed Family Therapist with a specialty in systemic assessment and intervention and has been a successful therapist and program director in a variety of settings including residential treatment centers, a therapeutic boarding school, university counseling center, and an eating disorder inpatient program.
Sarah is a frequent presenter at NATSAP’s annual conferences, has developed and conducted parent support workshops throughout the country and has served as a consultant to healthcare corporations on issues related to improving treatment outcomes.
She holds a master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from Brigham Young University, is a professional member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and an affiliate member of the National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs.
A Canadian transplant, Sarah enjoys running, cooking, traveling and skiing, although she is routinely humiliated by her husband and two children on the slopes near her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Peter is a psychotherapist and interventionist with a successful private practice in Santa Monica, California. Prior to that, he worked as a sober companion for actors, musicians, athletes, and others in early recovery, and as a therapist and case manager for highly regarded residential and outpatient treatment programs in Southern California.
Peter holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a master’s in clinical psychology from Antioch University. He is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in both California and Texas. Passionate about helping people reclaim and recreate their lives, he especially enjoys working with adolescents, young adults, and their families to overcome the immense challenges of substance abuse and/or mental illness.
Peter and his wife live in Los Angeles, where they are raising a son and a daughter. He’s also an Ironman triathlete and competitive masters runner. When not at work, Peter can be found running or biking on the back roads of Southern California.
Peter has enjoyed continuous sobriety since 2002 and is an active member of his recovery community.

Chuck Wilcox, JD, CSAC
A dynamic consultant, advocate, and mediator, Chuck is both a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor and an attorney. Prior to joining Finney Consulting, he had a successful career as Assistant General Counsel and VP for a national telecommunications company after serving as an Air Force Judge Advocate for 27 years.
Chuck earned his B.S. at Tulane University and his JD at the University of Texas. His ongoing professional learning is expansive: Leadership Coaching Program at Georgetown University, Addiction Training Workshop at Harvard Medical School, Dispute Resolution and Negotiations course work at Pepperdine, and Mediator Certification from the Justice Center of Atlanta.
Beyond his education and training, Chuck has spent most of his career in advising and mentoring roles, with a special interest in well-being and supporting others struggling with mental health, addiction and family problems. He has worked as a counselor in a residential treatment center, trained young professionals in both his military and corporate careers, and has been a guest speaker at Cornell University Law School on the topic of forging meaningful career paths.
Committed fitness and outdoor enthusiasts, world travelers, and adventure hounds, Chuck and his wife are the proud parents of two grown children and Rocco, the Wonder Dog. Chuck and his family live near Washington D.C.
Kristin oversees our daily operations and serves as intake coordinator, family liaison, and assistant case manager. Throughout the treatment and recovery process, she assists and provides support to the families we work with. As the parent of a former client and with over a decade of experience navigating the world of mental health treatment, Kristin has an inside-out perspective that is both personal and professional.
Kristin is a former professional chef and graduate of the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. A native New Yorker, Kristin currently resides in Salt Lake City, UT, where she serves on the board of a local charter school, teaches cooking and delights in spending time with her family, which includes her husband, one daughter, three exuberant sons, and Alfalfa the cat.
